While going through my pantry, I discovered a can of pear halves that was going to expire soon. So I had to use it. I’ve had the pears as part of storage, and they are finally reaching the end of their shelf life. But what recipe would call for canned pear halves? Did I have them in storage for no reason?

No specific recipes came to mind. So I obviously turned my mind to creating a smoothie. The pears were stored in 100% juice, none of that fake syrup stuff, so I figured the smoothie angle should work great. Make sure that you always check for fruits stored in juice rather than light or heavy syrup. These are just added empty sugar calories that you don’t really need to put in your body. But what will go well with the canned pears?

It turns out you can make a super simple three ingredient smoothie with some items you may have on hand already and it’ll turn out tasting great. Yogurt. Strawberries. Canned Pears. Blend these all together and you get a light, strawberry focused smoothie that will be sure to tickle your fancy.
