This particular recipe came about because I wanted a healthy breakfast smoothie with enough staying power to replace a meal. But I hadn't gone out shopping for smoothie ingredients recently. So I ended up just throwing together the different things that I happened to have stocked in my fridge and freezer. From corn to applesauce, I hope you like it.
Purple Green Mash-Up
Makes about 2 servings.
Ingredients: 1/3 cup applesauce (good stuff, no sugar added) 2/3 cup 100% pineapple juice 1/3 cup milk (I used 1%) 1 cup spinach (pack it into the measuring cup) 1/3 cup raspberries (I used frozen) 1/3 cup cherries (I used frozen) 1/3 cup corn (I used frozen) 1/3 cup blueberries (I used frozen)
1. Add all of the ingredients in the order that they are listed into a blender and turn it up to high until well blended.
