A happy New Year to everyone out there! And along with the new year come a slew of resolutions and setting the stage for 2015. Making smoothies a part of your healthy living resolutions is a great idea. They are ridiculously simple to make and they taste like dessert!

You may have noticed that I enjoy smoothies. A lot. Enough to start a whole website dedicated to them. And while I do enjoy making them, there are times when it is nice for someone else to do the work.

So I have sampled smoothies from a wide variety of food establishments with largely varied results. The typically over priced and across the board bland or uninspired flavors do not always impress (I’m looking at you, Starbucks). However, one of the places I tend to enjoy is Jamba Juice.

Frozen Mango

The mango has always been difficult to chop from its pit, but frozen mango works just as well as fresh.

With the mango being one of my (many) Achilles heels as far as fruits and smoothies go, their Mango A Go Go smoothie has often found its way into my cupholder. It is quite a delicious concoction of powerful mango flavor.

And, as I typically do when I truly enjoy a smoothie/meal/restaurant creation, I thought I would ask the all knowing Google if any semblance of a recipe was to be found.

Lucky for me, there was a glorious site with a whole mess of Jamba Juice recipes. You can find all of their recipes from this list of Jamba inspired goodness. After looking through the recipe I made some slight alterations and have included it below.

Mango Juice

One hundred percent juice.

The best part is how simple it is. I think that its simplicity really lets the fresh smoothie taste come through. Four simple ingredients can turn into a tasty breakfast, lunch or dinnertime treat.

To start making the recipe you will need some mango juice. Make sure it is 100% juice and not just some artificial. Hint: if it says nectar instead of juice, then it probably has added sugars and other ingredients.

Then we just need some coconut milk, frozen mango and frozen pineapple.

With these four ingredients you can make the Jamba Juice Mango A Go Go recipe right at home. And what is even more awesome is the fact that you can modify it to be whatever you want.

There is much room for interpretation with this recipe. Add some protein powder, sprouts or rolled oats to pack in a bit of an extra nutritional punch. Also one of my favorite additions to mango smoothies: Carrots! They blend right in and add to the distinct orange color while also giving some fiber and a healthy dose of vitamin A.

Whichever way you have it, this smoothie is always a top contender for one of the best. You can’t beat simple, quick and tasty. The recipe only makes about two (only one if you are like me and absolutely love it) servings. But it can easily doubled or quadrupled according to what you need. Add this Mango A Go Go recipe to your book today.

For some reason I just love this shot of the side of the glass.
