This smoothie is chock-full of healthy fruits that will kick-start your day with the fuel and nutrients you need. Apples, pineapple, orange juice, kiwis and yogurt combine to give the smoothies its great flavor and drinkable nutrition. For a no-dairy option, omit the yogurt. For a different twist on the flavor try adding some dried coconut meat or some coconut water. Add a cup or two of spinach to make it a green smoothie. Try anything you want, this one lends itself well to tinkering and finding what you like.
Kick-Start Tropical Smoothie
Makes 2-3 servings.
Ingredients:
1 vanilla yogurt cup (6 oz. or about 2/3 cup)
1/2 cup 100% orange juice
1 medium banana
2 kiwis
1 apple
1 cup fresh pineapple
2 to 3 cups ice
1. Slice and core the apple, cut the pineapple into cubes and cut the ends off of the kiwis.
2. Add all of the ingredients in the order listed into your blender and mix on high until smooth. Use more or less ice depending upon what you like.
3. Pour and enjoy!
