I love hot chocolate. But I live in Arizona. So, most of the year it would be ridiculous to try and enjoy a hot cup of hot cocoa when it is over 100 degrees outside. I still do it sometimes. But, this amazing recipe made famous by Serendipity helps cool you off while giving you the hot chocolate taste. I would like to personally thank the first person to realize that they could make a frozen treat out of this usually hot drink.
This recipe is easily adaptable to whatever you want. The milk can be any type (2%,1%, whole, skim) or substituted with chocolate milk, whipping cream, half and half (Just not buttermilk please...). The hot chocolate mix can be any flavor you can imagine. I absolutely love the Ghirardeli sweet ground white chocolate for this recipe. Think I might go make some right now...
I made this one with some mint hot chocolate and topped it with whipped cream sprinkled with cocoa powder. Tasty.
