This is a great basic recipes. Use it by itself for a tasty, simple smoothie that is creamy and delicious. Or you can use it as a base to experiment and try adding or exchanging ingredients for a new mix of flavors. Run wild with it, Or not. It is a classic for a reason.
Classic Strawberry Banana
Makes 2-3 servings:
Ingredients: 1/3 cup water or milk (milk for a creamier smoothie) 1/3 cup pineapple juice 1 yogurt cup (6 oz. or a little under 2/3 cup) 1 1/2 small to medium sized bananas 2 cups frozen strawberries (about 20 medium sized strawberries)
1. Put ingredients in the order they appear into the blender.
2. Begin pulsing the blender, and move to full blending when the majority of chunks are gone.
3. Pour into cups, garnish with slices of banana and strawberries.
Variations: If you prefer fresh strawberries, then use them instead. Add about a cup of ice until you get a consistency you like.
