There on my counter were some bananas just hanging there. They were begging to get used in something. They looked perfectly ripe for smoothie making. So I opened my fridge and freezer to see what could go along with it. And now we have a new recipe for the site. Being black and blue usually refers to bruises and although the bananas did look a little bruised this recipe refers to the companion ingredients of blackberries and blueberries.
Black and Blue Banana Smoothie
Makes 2-3 servings.
Ingredients: 2 medium bananas 1 vanilla yogurt cup (6 oz. or about 2/3 cup) 1/2 cup 100% juice (I used a Welch's White Grape Peach juice, but feel free to experiment) 1 cup frozen blueberries 1/2 cup frozen blackberries
1. Add all of the ingredients in the order listed into the blender and mix on high until smooth.
