It was late at night and I was craving a smoothie. But I wanted to add in some of the healthy ingredients we had in the fridge. And I was running rather low on my go to frozen fruits. This ended up using the rest of my frozen blackberries. blueberries and raspberries. With nine ingredients, I think it is up there as one of the most varied smoothies on the site so far. But they mix together for a rasther tasty late night treat, or any time treat.
Berry Banana Smorgasbord Smoothie
Makes 3 servings.
Ingredients: 1 unsweetened apple sauce cup (4 oz. or about half a cup) 1 vanilla yogurt cup (6 oz. or about 2/3 cup) 1/2 cup spinach (pack it in there, don't skimp!) 1/4 cup chopped carrot (I used some baby carrots) 2 medium sized bananas 1/2 cup low-fat milk 1/2 cup blueberries (frozen) 1/2 cup blackberries (frozen) 3/4 cup raspberries (frozen)
1. Add all of the ingredients to the blender in the order they are listedand blend it all together on high until smooth. Add ice if necessary, especially if using fresh fruits, until you get the consistency you like.
